What to look for in a mesh diving bag

Once you’ve got all your abalone diving gear you’re going to need a place to put it. I store my gear in a mesh diving bag and use the same bag when I head to the coast.

You need a duffle bag that will fit almost everything. Your wetsuit, gloves, booties, mask and snorkel should all fit. I store my mask in the case it came with, so I’m not worried about it getting roughed up inside the bag with everything else. You should also be able to toss in your dry bag with your fishing license and other essentials.

I put my weight belt inside a pocket at the front of the mesh diving bag, but it makes it extremely heavy and lopsided. It’s the best way I’ve been able to figure out how to keep everything together.

My tube doesn’t go into the bag because it’s inflated and wouldn’t fit. I hold on to it separately.
